CANCER REHABILITATION

A diagnosis of cancer comes with more than just emotions. Most men and women often undergo surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy among other experimental procedures. These treatments can have many adverse effects, from pain and decreased strength, to limiting patient mobility, swelling, and difficulty sleeping. Rehabilitation can become necessary during and after treatment, in order to maintain daily activity. Maintaining strength and physical abilities during cancer treatment can help reduce the risk of complications, as well as improve quality of life for cancer patients. Research has also revealed physical therapy can help speed recovery after cancer treatment. Our team of physical therapists will work with patients and other caregivers to help maximize comfort and physical ability; even light exercise can help patients reduce anxiety and maintain a sense of calm about their condition.
