The Student Services Team at Battle Born Academy is comprised of dedicated professionals committed to fostering the academic and emotional growth of students. Robin Turner, the School Mental Health Counselor, brings over 15 years of experience in mental health, specializing in counseling for youth and families. John Barela, a Special Education Teacher with a rich background from Madrid, Spain, has 28 years of experience and focuses on maximizing the potential of students with special needs. Johnesha Powell, another Special Education Teacher, leverages her extensive experience in education to empower students and families. Aliy Bossert, the Literacy Coach, focuses on early childhood education and professional development for teachers. Angela Banks, a Special Education Teaching Assistant, excels in building positive student relationships. Sam Sandoval, also a Special Education Teaching Assistant, uses their unique background to enhance the learning experience for neurodivergent students. Together, this team works tirelessly to ensure that every student at Battle Born Academy feels valued, heard, and supported.
